I'm quiet lucky in that work sends me around the country to random places. If it wasn't for working down there, I don't think I would have gone to the XC. But I'm really glad I did. Don't a bit of googling before hand told me that:
XC Skate and BMX park features the only covered concrete pool and bowl complex in the UK!
Covered concrete pool? Say what? I'm not sure what I thought this meant, but I was expecting some skateable roof type affair. Rather than just a bowl indoors...But what a bowl it is! I'm going to put myself out there and say that this is the best bowl I've skated in in the UK so far. It's super smooth, fast and fun.
As well as this, there's a pool bowl with real pool coping all the way from California, a mini ramp and a street section which, although looks small, has loads of lines. I got talking to a local scooter boy who showed me lines I hadn't even thought of, including stair and gap jumps, hips and a vert wall - perfect for me as I love street stuff! There's some low rails for practising 50/50s, but these are fairly wide so are only really doable on quads with grind trucks.
I can't wait to go and skate here again.
